About the Journal
The main aim of the African Phytosanitary Journal (APJ) is to provide a platform for dissemination of knowledge that is crucial in upholding standards set by International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC). The APJ is a unique journal due to the scope of its coverage which is exclusively focused on sanitary and phytosanitary issues. It is emerging as one of the most authoritative journals covering phytosanitary issues. Papers dealing with results of original research, critical reviews, case studies, short communications and special issues on any phytosanitary aspect are welcome.

APJ is a peer-reviewed journal. The journal employs a double-blind peer review process. Submitted articles are subjected to editorial review and confirmed to be consistent with basic guidelines outlined and editorial policy, it is sent to three knowledgeable and experienced reviewers. Authors are encouraged to visit the website in order to get acquainted with the stipulated format. The editor is responsible for the overall editorial process and co-ordination. Feedback from reviewers are sent back to authors for consideration.

In addition, special issues consisting of a collection of papers dealing with a specific theme (e.g., proceedings of conferences and special workshops, or invited papers on a selected topic) may occasionally be published. Organizers of conferences/workshops may please contact the editor for related information well in advance.
