KEPHIS spearheaded activities to mark the International Year of Plant Health (2022/2023) in Kenya. KEPHIS and COPE organized a virtual 4th Phytosanitary Conference from 18th to 21st September 2023 in Nairobi, Kenya. The theme of the conference was “Enhancing Phytosanitary Systems for Trade Facilitation, Climate Smart Agriculture and Sustainable livelihoods”. This Conference was in line with the celebrations of the International Year of Plant Health in 2022/2023.

 

KEPHIS and COPE organized a virtual 3rd Phytosanitary Conference from 13th to 16th September 2021 in Nairobi, Kenya. The theme of the conference is “Enhancing Phytosanitary Systems for Healthy Plants, Safe and Sustainable Trade”. This Conference was in line with the celebrations of the International Year of Plant Health in 2020/2021.

KEPHIS and COPE organized a 2nd Phytosanitary Conference from 4th to 8th June 2018 in Nairobi, Kenya. The theme of the conference was “Phytosanitary Systems for Safe Trade and food Security”. The conference provided opportunities to discuss phytosanitary systems issues experienced by different countries in the region.

KEPHIS and COPE organized the 1st Phytosanitary Conference from 12th to 16th September 2016 in Nairobi, Kenya. The theme of the conference was “Phytosanitary regulation for improved trade facilitation and food security”. The conference created an opportunity for participants from the NPPOs and those in agricultural trade to share their success as well as challenges encountered. The conference also offered the participants an opportunity to discuss emerging issues such as invasive species and pest outbreaks.
